Famous words quoted in such books as the famous "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".
It has more meaning now for people here on D.A. than it did before. Recently, as many know, D.A. has been the unfortunate victim of several breaches in security, along with hackers running amok and deactivating people's accounts.
My response to this (which will hopefully help other out) is this;
DON'T PANIC!
Panic and fear is exactly what this hacker/hackers want. They WANT you to panic, they WANT to instill fear. They get their sick kicks from it; it makes them feel good, feel important, feel powerful.
By denying them this, WE WIN AND THEY LOSE.
Now, I'm not saying go ahead and just let them hack your accounts and act like nothing happened.
Change your passwords every month or so.
Watch your account activity. Even though some may have it turned off, D.A. checks what the last time your account was active was. If it was active at a time that you KNOW you were not active on, first check to make sure that your account's time zone and clock settings are correct, and if so and you still think that your account was active when it most clearly wasn't you or someone you know, report it to the D.A. staff; that's why they're there.
In short, monitor when you account was last online, and change your passwords every now and again, along with this; have multiple email accounts and switch the one you have now with a different one that you have. This will overcome the security leak that D.A. went through recently, seeing as how the email the hackers may have will be different from your new one if you change your email right now.
Those are easy things to do to help protect your account. These hold true for most sites on the net that I've been to and definitely will for D.A.
On top of all these tips, the most important one to follow is the one that I've mentioned before; DON'T PANIC.
I repeat; DON'T PANIC.
And on the off chance that the many good people of D.A. don't like my style of writing, tone, or anything else about this piece of news, I'll let the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy get my point across:
As it says on the back cover of the guide written in big friendly red letters:

Is DeviantART actually a good place anymore?
In short; I've seen a lot of bad reviews on various places for DeviantART today.
I remember joining it back in high school. It seemed okay, there were people here, and they drew Pokemon fan art, which is what I primarily drew then.
Then people left, there was more cyberbullying, art theft, and a whole lot more X-rated/Adult-rated stuff uploaded.
That said, I've seen the reviews online on other places, and I can't really fault them; depending upon how you have your viewer settings configured, there's a lot of that, especially the latter of those three things, right on the front page no less.
Now, I'm not against a site having an Adults-Onl
On Bees, as in Honeybees
I've been thinking about bees for no real reason.
Bees are interesting, and vital for many plant species.
But moreover, the parallels to various human societies are numerous. For instance, there is evidence that bees either have emotions or at least the base mechanisms behind them:
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/i-ll-bee-there-for-you-do-insects-feel-emotions/
Also, they apparently have something regarding culture, as they use a complex dance to guide other bees toward where flowers with nectar remaining are located. These dances can vary by hive and species.
They also have pheromones, and other types of body language besides
So I was looking around for a horror game to play
And, oh hell, did I find one.
It's commonly abbreviated DDLC, and it has nothing to do with expansion packs for games (called DLC or downloadable content).
The full name of it is Doki Doki Literature Club, and it's styled to look like, on the surface, an Eastern-made Visual Novel/Dating Sim. At first I didn't think much of it since I don't really play that kind of game, but I heard it was freaky in a psychological way, and it was free of charge on steam, so I downloaded it and gave it a playthrough.
BEAR WITH ME; THIS GETS WEIRD AND DARK...
To the point of borderline Lovecraftian.
It starts out innocuous enough; you play the role of a ma
D and D Kobolds
I should have researched them more back when I played D&D because in a lot of ways they're almost exactly like the Argonians, otherwise known as Saxleel, from The Elder Scrolls series (which makes sense the The Elder Scrolls series was originally a homebrew game of D&D played by the devs at Bethesda during their lunch break; no joke, Tamriel was a realm they'd made up for their own D&D campaign that got turned into one of the best known series of western, or non Asian-made, fantasy role playing video games in the world).
That said, Kobolds.
